In the field of mass surface finishing and many other types of surface treatment, it is almost always necessary to ascertain, by means of a test on a batch of samples, which are the ideal factors to determine an optimal process in order to achieve the required result – a reference sample of the desired final quality is -when possible – always welcome.
By process we mean the set of machine, media, additives, parameters, timing and the operating methods (loading, unloading, separating pieces).

Per batch of samples, the volume required depends on whether the process assumptions are geared towards the use of media or “self-tumbling” treatment (piece against piece).

It is always recommended to anticipate photos of the samples, with the required weights, sizes and quantities – in the presence of many items, it is advisable to limit yourself to the smallest, the largest and the most “produced” part (statistically). It is useful to complete the request by specifying the origin of the components (e.g. hot forging) and the destination after the requested process (e.g. galvanic treatment).
